This summer, Wonder Wednesdays returned for its second year at The Mariners\u2019 Museum and Park! This beloved weekly program was packed with even more fun and excitement, and offered something new: bilingual sessions! Our team worked hard all year to make Wonder Wednesdays even more magical for your little ones, and they didn’t disappoint!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were thrilled to introduce Bilingual Wonder Wednesdays \u2014 an incredible addition to the program where stories and songs were shared in both English and Spanish. It was a fun and inclusive way for little ones to experience the joy of language and learn through play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This free, educational program runs from June through August and is designed for children ages 2 to 4 and their caregivers. Each week, our Education Team gathers with guests in our Bumblebee Learning Garden to sing songs, read stories, and engage in hands-on activities that spark imagination and creativity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Grandfather<\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Each session starts with singing from our Park Playlist<\/em>. Everyone receives a booklet at the beginning so you can follow along. On bilingual days, we sing three songs in English and three songs in Spanish \u2014 and trust us, you\u2019ll hear the children joyfully singing and dancing along!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Next up is storytime, where one of our educators reads a beautifully illustrated book that promotes imagination while building early literacy skills. On bilingual days, each page is read first in English and then in Spanish, allowing kids to hear and learn in both languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After the story, it\u2019s time for an activity! These vary week to week and include arts and crafts, sensory play, and educational games \u2014 all designed to fuel creativity and keep those young minds active and curious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once the program ends, the fun doesn\u2019t have to stop. Families are welcome to play in the Lil\u2019 Mariners\u2019 Play Zone, explore the Park, or even head inside the Museum with free admission for participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
